Welcome to the New City of Pacific emergency Preparedness Blog

Welcome to the new City of Pacific Prepredness Blog.  On this blog, the City of Pacific will provide updated information on Emergency Preparedness, Forecast and Emergency Information.  Over this next few weeks we will upload portions of the City of Pacific Emergency Management Plan (The entire plan would take up too much space and would not be applicable to most people looking for information.) Anyone wishing to view the entire plan (less any sensitive information) may do so upon request.

The City of Pacific has a Comprehensive Emergency Manamgent Plan that is reviewed and updated every two years.  In between updates, additions are made and incorporated into the plan for review.  Since adoption in 2009, we have updated the Hazard Mitigation Plan, revised and updfated the Continuity of Operation Plan, added an evacuation plan and created both the Volunteer Emergency Worker plan and Volunteer Center Handbook.

But an emergency plan is not just a document.  It is the critical thinking that is behind the written words and the application of those words into action.  That is why the City of Pacific stresses training and community preparedness so much.  This Saturday, September 24 the City of Pacific and the Emergency Management Citizen Advisory Board are proud to host the first "Disasters 101 workshop to start the implimentation of our Volunteer Emergency Worker plan. This class will be held at Pacific City Hall starting at 9:00 AM.  There will be plenty of information to be passed out and each participant shall be entered into a drawing for an "Emergency "Go" pack"
